Where we come from
Founded in 1945 by the brothers Darcy and Cid Stockler, the company has undergone many changes to keep up with the times.
Having been previously located in São Paulo, today our head office is situated in the city of Santos, the largest port in Latin America and perhaps even the most important port of shipment for coffee in the world - an ideal location for a coffee export company.
Today
We currently have four operating branch offices. Three are in the state of Minas Gerais, one of which is in Varginha, one in São Sebastião do Paraiso and the third in Patrocinio. The fourth branch office is located in the port town of Vitoria.
- The Vitoria office serves as our main office for our Rio Minas and Conillon operations, and as a port of shipment for other coffees when ever needed.
- The Varginha office serves as a buying station with its own quality control department. It is located in the heart of Sul de Minas, Brazil’s most important coffee region. This is one of the factors which made this office our biggest buying station over the last years.
- In São Sebastião do Paraiso we purchase coffee, do quality control and give guidance to producers from the region. This area is composed mainly of smaller producers who require more attention than the large scale farmers.
- In the beginning of 2006 we openend our branch in Patrocinio. With the presence of our own office in the Cerrado we are now able to directly contact producers, who have been selling their coffee to us for a long time, but always had to go throught agents.
We work with agents to purchase coffee in the state of Paraná as well as in the Zona da Mata region in Minas Gerais.
Certified
Stockler is an innovative company. Throughout the years we have participated as sponsors in various events, from quality contests to social projects in the local coffee community.
When the topic of organic coffees came up in Brazil we did not hesitate and made sure we had a chance to once again participating in a movement that could greatly change the coffee world for some of our suppliers. This was the reason why we have decided to get certified by IBD, years ago.
Over the past years we have undergone some structural changes in order to adapt ourselves to the growing interest in sustainable coffees as well. Today we are certified by Utz Kapeh and Rainforest Alliance.
